Our Aim

Webuseful's aim is to make the web work for our clients. We use our technical and marketing skills to find ways for the internet to add value to your company. The purpose of the sites we create is not to showcase our skills but to present your company as effectively as possible.

We understand that business managers have many demands on their time, so we don't expect you to co-ordinate designers, writers, developers and hosting companies. We provide complete solutions, and take full responsibility for delivering a solution that works for you.

Our Methods

We love getting to know our clients. We think that websites should convey the character of the company, not just its colour scheme. To do this we spend time talking to all our clients so that we understand their business. Not just what they do, but also why they do it.

We love learning new skills. What's possible on the web is changing every day. Features that once required million-dollar budgets are now available to ordinary small to medium sized businesses. Every day we learn something new, that helps us make more effective websites for our clients.

Our Experience

Webuseful was set up by Steve Jack, to capitalise on his extensive experience in IT, the web, and e-commerce. Steve achieved a first class degree in Computing in 1985, and has worked in the industry ever since. He has experience as developer, providing support, and as a manager.

Prior to starting Webuseful Steve was Head of IT for online share trading company IWeb Share Dealing. Steve worked on the project from its inception. In the 3 years after going live in 2001 the company gained 30,000 clients and reached £3 million in trades per day.

Before that, Steve held various management roles in the City branch of an Italian bank. His responsibilities included the dealing room IT services, and the business continuity provision. He was involved in the Euro conversion project and the Year 2000 project.

Steve is a member of the British Computer Society, the industry body for IT professionals. As such, he is bound by the Society's Codes of Conduct and Practice

The name Webuseful comes from Steve's favourite saying to his IT colleagues : “Being useful is more important than being clever”
