Wordpress Web Site Development Case Study
Revitalizing a Harlow Community Website
In 2014 we revitalised Round About Harlow, a local community website for Harlow. The website aims to help people find out about events, services, shops, local trades/people and local charities within the Harlow area. It encourages residents to support Harlow businesses.
The site had been running since 2006 but by 2014 the platform it was running on was no longer being supported or enhanced, which caused a series of technical challenges and problems. We converted the site to use WordPress, the most widely used and best supported system for running web sites. It’s still easy for the site owner to update the site, but now it’s on a platform that is stable and has a long-term future.
The design is largely the same as the old site, with a few enhancements to bring it up to date.
The site owner set us a tight deadline of less than a month to get the new site up and running, and we made it on time.
“I am extremely pleased with my new revitalised website. I approached a few local web design companies because I needed the website changed very quickly, in-fact within a month.”
“After speaking to them I decided to go with Steve from Webuseful because he said he could meet my tight deadline, even though he had other work on at the time.”
“He visited me and spent time going through all that I wanted and I was confident I would get the help I needed learning the new system as he was so patient.”
“His price was a lot more competitive than the other developers had quoted. I love the fact that it is now a WordPress site which means that I can do a lot more myself and Steve has always been very quick to respond to my queries whilst getting used to the site.”
Many Thanks again,
Owner, Round about Harlow
